Gareth Bale has praised Brennan Johnson after seeing the Welsh international secure a big move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Brennan Johnson has been told that the ‘sky is the limit’ for him after leaving Nottingham Forest for Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s the view of Gareth Bale, who has been speaking to Sky Sports about Johnson earlier today.
Bale was asked about Johnson after seeing the 22-year-old follow in his footsteps by becoming a Welsh international attacker at Spurs.
Bale feels that Johnson is already ‘doing well’ but will only get better with more and more Premier League action under his belt.
The former Tottenham hero thinks that Johnson can go far in his career and prove to be a great asset for both Tottenham and Wales.
“He’s doing well, he’s doing well and I think the more he plays now in the top flight, the better he’ll get and the sky is the limit,” said Bale. “I think, as long as he’s playing football and improving and doing well, it’s good for Tottenham and good for Wales also.”
When told that Aaron Ramsey had cursed Johnson’s move to Tottenham last week, Bale simply responded by saying that Johnson joining Spurs is ‘better than Arsenal’ anyway.

Tottenham fans can’t expect Brennan Johnson to be the new Gareth Bale
These comparisons are bound to come up.
Bale used his blistering speed to become a hero for Wales and Tottenham, as well as the most expensive player in history back in 2013.
Johnson also has sensational pace and is on his way to becoming a vital player for Wales moving forward.

Tottenham will now hope to see Johnson become a star in North London with Ange Postecoglou’s style of play seemingly perfect for him.
The Bale comparisons can’t go too far though; he was one of the Premier League’s best players before heading to Real Madrid.
Johnson, for all of his talent and potential, is a long way off that kind of level and he ultimately just needs to have the freedom to be the best Brennan Johnson possible – not somebody cosplaying as Gareth Bale.
