ARSENAL STAR HAILED FOR ‘ONE OF HIS VERY BEST’ INTERNATIONAL DISPLAYS

Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard has been hailed by the Norwegian media after his performance against Georgia on Tuesday night.

Martin Odegaard turned in one of his finest performances for Norway as the Arsenal captain inspired a win over Georgia.

Norway hammered Jordan 6-0 last week before turning their attention to the EURO 2024 qualifier against Georgia.

Erling Haaland unsurprisingly got himself on the scoresheet before Arsenal ace Odegaard made it 2-0.

Georgia did pull one back late on but Norway came away with the win to keep their hopes of qualification alive.

Scotland sit top of the group with five wins from five, meaning it’s now incredibly likely that there is just one qualification spot left in Group A.

Spain and Norway will fight it out there, but Spain’s game in hand leaves Norway fighting a real battle.

Arsenal star Martin Odegaard praised in Norway

Odegaard is Norway’s captain and part of their truly elite duo alongside Haaland.

Goals have been hard to come by for him though, going 14 games without a goal before scoring against Georgia.

Finally finding the net again will be a relief for Odegaard, who has been hailed over in Norway.

TV2 analyst Jepser Mathisen was blown away by Odegaard’s performance, suggesting that this was ‘one of his very best international matches’.

Mathisen added that Odegaard was simply ‘everywhere’ and brought everyone along with him, from his teammates to the Norway fans.

“Ødegaard has delivered one of his very best international matches,” said Mathisen. “He has been everywhere and scored goals. He has brought both the audience and his teammates along,” he added.

TV2 rated Odegaard at 8/10, suggesting that he was ‘really enjoying himself’ and gave great effort off the ball as well as technical excellence on it.

TV2 pointed out that Odegaard registered the most tackles too, praising the Arsenal star’s performance.

The Gunners will now hope to see Odegaard continue that form into this weekend’s game against Everton, with Premier League football coming back into focus.
