2023 MTV VMAs: Diddy follows Beyonce’s footsteps as he performs with his children, fans say ‘Blue Ivy did it first’

NEWARK, NEW JERSEY: Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs followed Beyonce’s lead when he invited his older son, Justin, and twin daughters, D’Lila and Jessie, to perform with him at the 2023 MTV VMAs.


For the unversed, Beyonce is known for bringing her daughter, Blue Ivy, on stage during tours and performances. Additionally, Keyshia Cole and Diddy performed together, and the rapper also received the Global Icon Award.

Rapper Diddy’s performance with children steals fans’ hearts

On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans of the rapper instantly quipped at the supposed family reunion on stage during the performance.

One user wrote, “There was a post about Diddy performing with his kids, and somebody said, “Blue Ivy done started something…all the kids about to start clocking in” #VMAs.”

Another user remarked on her own fondness for the rapper, “I’m such a mom – I’m grinning like an idiot at P Diddy rapping with his kid.” One user stated, “Blue Ivy and Bey got all the celebrities getting their children on the stage to perform #VMA #Diddy.”

Another user wrote, “Diddy saw Blue Ivy on payroll & put the whole family to work. #VMAs.” One user remarked on Diddy and Blue Ivy’s similar love for their families, “Diddy saw Blue Ivy and told them twins to get to work!”
