Truck explodes on major NSW highway

A truck has crashed on a major NSW highway, causing it to then explode.

The truck crashed into a guard rail on the M1 at Ourimbah on the Central Coast on Monday about 10.30pm, and the subsequent explosion scattered debris across the road.

The highway was closed for some time while emergency services cleared the debris, but it has since reopened.

The driver escaped the blaze, receiving minor injuries. They did not require further treatment.

Multiple NSW Fire and Rescue crews were required.

The road was closed for some time following the crash, but has since reopened.
