Many of college football’s most dominant programs over the past 20 years have come from the SEC, the league that owns the rest of the game in terms of recruiting and national championship relevance. However, this isn’t the only conference that produces the highest-level elite honorees.
ESPN’s Bill Connelly recently released his SP+ ratings, a 20-year average of top-25 college football program data, “a measure of the most sustainable and predictable aspects of football.” Most of these programs have been consistent winners over the past two decades, with notable coaches among the most famous in school history.
On the other side of the coin, there are others who are fading fast and need to steer their respective boats in the right direction in rough seas.
