
On Saturday, December 24, 2022, Corporal Ray Hamilton, a sheriff’s deputy, was fatally shot by Timothy Price-Williams, 43, on Christmas Eve while he was attending to a domestic violence complaint.
Williams allegedly opened fire on Hamilton from inside his home; Williams was wounded in the arm during the shooting exchange. At the Fort Walton Beach – Destin Hospital, the deputy passed away shortly after 3 o’clock.
“A Fort Walton Beach area male is in the Okaloosa County prison tonight, charged with first-degree premeditated murder in the fatal shooting of an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy,” the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement regarding the arrest on December 25.
Tim Price-Williams, 43, was wanted by the OCSO on a domestic violence battery allegation today, but he resisted leaving his townhouse at 710 North Park Boulevard. The OCSO Special Response Team was called in to attempt to persuade Price-Williams to surrender quietly. The agency added, “Several deputies, including Corporal Ray Hamilton, entered an area behind the property’ backyard fence to aid in creating a secure perimeter. When they were in position, shots were fired from the house, striking Corporal Hamilton. He was taken by ambulance to HCA Fort Walton Beach – Destin Hospital, where he passed away shortly after 3 o’clock.
