Abakar Kazbekov dead and obituary, London Knights mourn passing of player

The London Cavaliers and the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) are mourning the sudden death of player Abakar Kazbekov on Saturday. Player Abakar Kazbekov has passed away suddenly, according to a tweet from the London Cavaliers.

Saturday’s game against the Flint Firebirds at Budweiser Gardens was postponed following Kazbekov’s death, the Cavaliers said. “Our thoughts are with his family, friends and teammates,” the Cavaliers said in a statement on Twitter.


Kazbekov has been with the London Cavaliers since 2021. Abakar Kazbekov did a lot of good things in 2019-20 with the Vaughn Kings AAA U16 team, a team that usually drafts a player.

But the Russian center was ineligible for the OHL’s preferred draft pick last spring because he didn’t live in the area long enough to meet the league’s residency requirements.
