Ruth Maddock dead and obituary,  British actress and singer – cause of death

Matt Lucas and Sir Tony Robinson are both paying homage to Hyde Hay! with Ruth Maddock. The actress rose to fame as yellowjacket officer Gladys Pugh in BBC One’s hugely successful TV series about a holiday camp in the late 1950s.

Maddock’s manager, the Little Britain cast member, died at the age of 79 in a statement shared with The Pennsylvania News Agency on Saturday. The star of stage and screen died in hospital on Friday (Dec. 9), said Phil Belfield of talent agency Belfield & Ward.

The statement read: “A true legend of British entertainment. [Maddock] was a unique talent loved by many. She passed away too soon. Our hearts are broken Former GBBO presenter Lucas, who appeared on Maddock’s show Little Britain, said in a statement with David Williams:

“We grew up listening to her iconic performance as Gladys Pugh in Hi De Hi, and we were thrilled when she agreed to join Little Britain as Dafydd’s mother. Did. “She was fantastic on the show and was an absolute joy to work with. Our love and condolences go out to her family.

Meanwhile, Robinson, 76, recalled his “lovely friend” and said: “Saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend Ruth Maddock.
