Canadian TikTok star Megha Thakur passed away “unexpectedly” on Thursday, Nov. 24, according to her parents’ Instagram post. she is 21 years old. The TikTok star has more than 1 million followers on TikTok and Instagram.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the light of life that our kind, thoughtful and beautiful daughter Megha Thakur passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in the early hours of November 24, 2022,” the post read.
“Megha was a confident and independent young woman. We will miss her greatly,” the message continued. “She loves her fans and wants you to know of her death. We ask for your well wishes for Megha at this time. Their thoughts and prayers will be with them as they move on.”

Thakur’s parents did not immediately disclose the cause of their daughter’s death.
Thakur started posting on the popular social media app in November 2019 and is known for spreading messages of confidence and body positivity.
Her latest TikTok post on Nov. 18 showed her taking a walk in New York City with the caption: “You control your own destiny. Remember it.”
