The unique Santa Cruz Excessive College constructing was inbuilt 1895 and first opened in 1897. Beforehand, all highschool programs had been taught on the fourth ground of Guanlan Center College. The primary class graduated from Smith Opera Home on June 7, 1878, with 4 college students: Evelyn Pope, Cornelia Chappelmann, John Cooper, and Underwood McCann, who obtained their diplomas. The necessity for a separate constructing was determined in 1894 by a vote of 530 to 175, and it was constructed in 1895.
