SOUTHWARK, LONDON: Singer-songwriter Rex Orange County has been charged with six counts of sexual assault. The 24-year-old, whose legal name is Alexander O’Connor, allegedly assaulted a woman twice on June 1, “four additional times the next day, once in a taxi and three other times in his Notting Hill home,” the Sun has reported. However, this has left fans in shock with one saying, “Can’t trust no one these days.”

On Monday, October 10, O’Connor, who shot to fame as Rex Orange County after being featured on Tyler, the Creator‘s 2017 album ‘Flower Boy,’ denied all counts of sexual assault during an appearance at Southwark Crown Court in London, as per the Sun. On the other hand, a representative for the singer said in a statement posted by The Guardian, “Alex is shocked by the allegations, which he denies, and looks forward to clearing his name in court. He is unable to make any further comment because of the ongoing proceedings.” As of now, O’Connor has been released on unconditional bail and a provisional trial date has been set for 3 January 2023.
