Mixon was arrested and charged in July 2014, before the start of his freshman season with the Sooners, for punching a woman in the face at a cafe and breaking four bones in her face.
A deferred sentence was granted to him after he entered an Alford plea, maintaining his innocence while acknowledging the evidence against him.He was also expelled for the entirety of his freshman year, but he was permitted to continue attending school.
